Letter to Suzanne Kosmas Regarding Czars
September 7, 2009
Dear Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas:
Fox News background checkers are wrong. This morning, Fox anchors have asserted that U.S. Senate confirmation for Presidential appointees, commonly called “Czars”, is not required.
U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2 (Excerpt)
“[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, … and he shall nominate, and by and WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE, shall appoint Ambassadors, OTHER PUBLIC MINISTERS… and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States,…”
Government minister – a person appointed to a high office in government.
Clearly, “czars” are ministers.
Given your oath of office you have no choice, but to support, and vote for, H.R. 3226, “CZAR Accountability Act of 2009”. Please do so. It is time to curtail the runaway executive branch!
Regards,
Richard D. Spalding
