I built this website to allow my Father, Dan Spalding, to share his political knowledge with all Americans and to honor his service to our country. My father, Richard Daniel Spalding, volunteered to fly Cobras with the Centaurs, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division in 1969. Inside enemy territory, he chose to exit his gunship to personally aid in the rescue of a downed helicopter aircrew without regard for his own safety. Ultimately, my father was awarded 4 distinguished flying crosses for heroism in combat. Not only is my father an American hero, but he is my hero. He taught me to always speak the truth, honor my word, and the importance of individual responsibility. Additionally, he taught me about the disease of Alcoholism through discussions about my grandmothers, both of whom were alcoholics. I am a recovering alcoholic (sober over 17 years), and would have been lost without his guidance, support, and tough love.

Although my father would have preferred a career in the airline industry, he has excelled as a programmer and manager in the defense industry, working for reputable and well-known organizations such as Northrop Grumman, ITT, Harris, and Litton Industries. He became interested in politics when we lived in California during the 1980's, after listening to politicians spew unconstitutional garbage regarding gun control. Since then, he has dedicated much of his personal time to reading historical books and writing articles and letters to congress in support of the U.S. Constitution.

My father also wrote his autobiography Centaur Flights, which has received numerous favorable ratings -- You can review some of them on the 'Book Reviews' page.
